Carol Sue Huss, 76, of Dallas City, Ill. , passed away at 7:04 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2026, at her home. Carol was born October 8, 1949, in Fort Madison, the daughter of Kenneth Lee “Bud” and Naomi Irene (Tollman) Whittemore. On March 2, 1968, she married Raymond Huss in Dallas City. He survives. 

Carol was raised and educated in Dallas City. Earlier in life, she worked as a waitress for the former Italian Village and Riverview Supper Club, both in Dallas City. Later, she was employed by AntennaCraft, Vista Bakery, and Lamont Basket Factory, all in Burlington, until her retirement. 
Mrs. Huss was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses. She enjoyed crafting plastics and knitting.

Besides her husband, survivors include two daughters: Sherry (Trent) Todd and Gina (Mitch) Boyer all of Mount Pleasant, Iowa; five grandchildren: Dustin (Yasmine) Huss of Ft. Madison, Drake Schofield of Mt. Pleasant, Devin (Whitney) Schofield of Ft. Madison, Autumn Todd of Dallas City and Madison Todd of Mt. Pleasant; one bonus grandson: Grady Boyer of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters: Donna Tenpenny and Sally Brickey and two brothers: Bill and Greg Whittemore. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son: Raymond Joseph Huss, one brother, Larry Whittemore; and three sisters, Beverly Hohl, Reva Gorman, and Kay Peel. 

Cremation has been entrusted to Banks & Beals Funeral Home. 

A visitation will be held from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City. 
Burial will be held at a later date at Harris Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for the Alzheimer's Association.
