Jimmy Dan Myers, 90, of Burlington, died Friday, June 24, 2022, at his home. 

Born July 11, 1931, in Biggsville, Illinois, he was one of eight children to the late Albert and Ruby Combites Myers. On July 26, 1948, he married Gladys Murphy in Monmouth. Together they raised two children. He later married his high school sweetheart, Pauline E. Siens in California.

Jimmy joined the U.S. Air Force when he was 18 years old. He was deployed to Vietnam and served for over two years before returning to California. He continued his service with the Air Force and retired at the rank of Master Sergeant after 20 years of service. 

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed deer hunting, traveling, and working outdoors, especially cutting wood, because he loved the sound of a chainsaw. Jimmy's family was the most important thing to him, especially doting on his beloved wife.

Jimmy leaves behind his beloved family; his wife, Pauline E. Myers of Burlington; son, Danny (Deb) Myers, Jr.; daughter, Robin Bowman; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; several step-children, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Evelyn Link of Oquawka, Mary Lou (Delbert) Dillon of Jacksonville, Ark., and Jeannie (Bill) Leonard of Biggsville; as well as, several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, and four brothers, Ora, Roy, Allen Lee, and Donald. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

The Graveside Committal Service for Jimmy will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 28 at Biggsville Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the service can meet at the Prugh-Thielen Funeral Home prior to the service for a procession departing at 12:30 p.m. to the cemetery. Full military honors will be rendered by the American Legion #136 Monmouth Honor Guard.
