Johanna Marie “Joy” Tracy, 88, of West Burlington, died Saturday, April 6, 2024, surrounded by family at her daughter's home in Burlington.

Born April 16, 1935, in Batavia, Ill., she was the daughter of Charles Elmer and Margurette Mahara Beckman. On April 29, 1955, she married Arnold Thomas Tracy in , Batavia Ill.. He later died July 21, 2019.

Johanna was girl scout leader in West Burlington, as well as Burlington. She was a Sunday school teacher at Flint Hills Church of the Nazarene. She coached girls softball and was a member of the Athletic Boosters of West Burlington. In addition to being a loyal Cubs and Bears fan, she also bowled and golfed for the Case Wives Team. Johanna loved to cross stitch, often times making gifts for friends and family. She was an avid reader, publishing two of her own books. When she was not watching or participating in sports, Johanna enjoyed spending time at  her property in Van Buren County with her husband. 

Survivors include son, Allan Lee (Dora) Tracy of Plover, WI, son, Thomas Arnold Tracy of Burlington, IA, daughter, Kim Colleen (LeRoy) Hurka of Gladstone, IL, daughter, Margurette Marie Sereda of Burlington, IA, daughter, Brenda Tracy (Jerry) Maus of Lake of The Ozarks, MO, daughter, Teresa Joy (Scott) Neuweg of Fort Madison, IA ; 16 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and one on the way; one sister, Alice Rose (Larry) Locke of Sheldon, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Arnold, her parents, three brothers, Charles Elmer Beckman Jr., James Henry Beckman, Oliver David Beckman; two sisters, Mildred Esther Carter and Gene Edith Aldrich; one great grandson, Lawrence Maus; and one Son-in-law, Stephen Sereda.

There will be no visitation or services.
