Cynthia Kathleen Merschbrock, 69, of Rochester, Minn., died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024, at the Cottage Wood Senior Communities. Cynthia was born in Keosauqua, on March 25, 1955, to Elroy and Dorothy Reese. She graduated from Ames High School and continued her education at Central Institute for the Deaf in St. Louis, Mo. Cynthia married Ronald Joseph Merschbrock in Ames, on March 4, 1978.
Cynthia worked as a data entry clerk for Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minn. for many years. She enjoyed working on her many cross-stitch projects and spending time with her three sons and five grandkids. She was also actively involved in the deaf community.
Her survivors include her brother Mike, her three sons, Brad (wife Amy), Michael (wife RaeLyn), Matthew (wife Annie), and five grandchildren; Ambrose, Deacon, Lucy, Zoe, Mason, and three nephews Jeff, Chris and Jason.
Cynthia is preceded in death by her parents, late husband, and sister-in-law.
A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, at Schmitz Funeral Home in West Point.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, at Schmitz Funeral Home in West Point with Father Dan Dorau officiating.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in West Point.
A luncheon will follow the burial at Sonny’s Other Side (325 5th Street, West Point).
Schmitz Funeral Home of West Point is assisting the family with arrangements.
