David A. Menke, 74, of Burlington, passed away Friday, November 7, 2025, at his home away from home in Blandinsville, Ill.

Born on September 29, 1951, in Fort Madison, he was the son of Eugene and Darlene Brown Menke. On July 23, 2005, in Burlington, he married Kathryn D. Allen.

Dave was a 1970 graduate of Burlington High School and a member of the Divine Mercy Parish. He worked for J.I. Case and a few other jobs until he decided to start his own online business. Music was a huge aspect of Dave’s life. It was ultimately what brought Dave and his wife Kathryn together. If you played the tune of any 1960’s or 1970’s song, Dave could sing the lyrics, tell you the title and musician of that song. In his free time, he enjoyed being outdoors, camping, fishing and being with his dog Kita. Most of all Dave loved nothing more than sitting around a campfire chatting with his family and friends until the sunrise the next day.

He is survived by his wife Kathryn; children: Kim Anne (Nick) LaFauce of Burlington, Joshua Allen of Oil City, PA and Timothy Tobin of Pittsburgh, PA and several grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Michael Menke, sisters: Paulette and Vicki.

The funeral service for Dave will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Lunning Chapel with Father Jacob Greiner as celebrant. A one-hour visitation will be held prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Lunning Chapel where the family will meet with friends. Interment will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
