
Robert Mark “Bob” Daugherty, 69, of Dallas City, Ill., passed away at 9:04 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2026, following a courageous ten-year battle with Lewy Body Dementia at River Valley Place of Fort Madison, Iowa.
Bob was born June 24, 1956, the son of Robert H. and Eileen M. Davison Daugherty in Burlington. On September 18, 1976, he married Janice Fowler in Colusa, Illinois. She survives.
Bob was a 1974 graduate of Fort Madison High School. Following graduation, he was employed at General Electric in Burlington, as well as, Seventh Son Termite & Pest Management. Bob went on to work at DuPont in Fort Madison for 35 years, where he retired as a supervisor on October 31, 2014. Mr. Daugherty was also a member of the Colusa Volunteer Fire Department.
Bob enjoyed horseback riding, attending the Fort Madison Rodeo, visiting the Lake of the Ozarks with friends and going on cruises with his wife and siblings. Above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Besides his wife, survivors include three children: Tori (Paul) Savage of Niota, Illinois, Brent Daugherty of St. Louis, Missouri and Darcy (Nate) Miller of Montrose, Iowa; four grandchildren: Lori and Evan Savage, and Alivia and Jace Griffin and two sisters: Kathy (Leroy) Mabeus and Sherry (Ray) McKee both of Wever, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Steven Daugherty.
Cremation has been entrusted to Banks & Beals Funeral Home.
Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City, with Dr. Jim Kannenberg officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Harris Cemetery, near Dallas City.
A memorial fund has been established for Ronald McDonald House or the Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
