
Michael Anthony Maddox, 71, of West Burlington, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022, at his home.
Born March 27, 1951, in Burlington, he was the son of Albert Allen and Hazel Marion Thomson Maddox Sr.
Michael graduated from Danville High School. He married Lynn Lillie. They later divorced.
He was an owner/operator truck driver for over 40 years. Prior to that he was a roofer and worked at Murray Ironworks.
Michael was of the catholic faith. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #105 in Burlington. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and socializing.
Survivors include his son Roger (Connie) Maddox of Iowa City; his companion of over 40 years, Maggie Wilson of West Burlington; one step-daughter Becky Gilbertson of Wichita, Kan.; four grandchildren Austin Maddox, Katy Maddox, Lindsey Nott, and Abby Huber; seven step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild and sister Carol Reed of Burlington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Dallas Maddox; sister Shirley Runyon and brother Albert Allen “Sonny” Maddox Jr.
The funeral service for Michael will be Monday, Dec. 19 at 2 p.m. at Lunning Chapel with Deacon Gary Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Lunning Chapel.
