Diane Kay Hobby Puente, 70, of Burlington, died Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in Fort Madison. Born June 4, 1951, she was the daughter of Kenneth Ray and Hazel Lorene (Aldridge) Hobby. Diane was a correctional officer at Iowa State Penitentiary in Fort Madison for 26 years. She was a member of Flint Hills Church of the Nazarene. Diane was a collector of tea sets. She loved her church and her cats, Eli and Sammy, and spending time with her family. Survivors include sons Joe (Patricia) Puente of Norwalk, IA, Fred (Amanda) Puente of Stronghurst, Ill.; granddaughters Selena Puente of Austin, Texas; Mara Puente of Cedar Falls; Makayla Franklin of Norwalk; grandsons Joseph and Jacob Puente and Gavin Franklin of Norwalk; and Nick Schurbon of Maquoketa; sister Judy (Ron) Durbin of Muscatine; brothers Mike (Honey) Hobby of Burlington; Ronnie (Chrissy) Aldridge of Mayfield, Ky.; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and one nephew. The funeral service for Diane will be Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Lunning Chapel with Pastor Ron Jewett officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Burlington Memorial Park.
