
Marilyn Ethel Miller, 86, of Sperry, died Friday, November 18, 2022, at her home.
Born June 17, 1936, in Des Moines County, Iowa, she was the daughter of Roy Charles and Ethel Lois Granaman Gieselman. She married James LeRoy Miller on July 15, 1954, in Kahoka, Missouri.
Marilyn was a 1954 graduate of Sperry Consolidated Schools. She was a proud farmer’s wife and loved gardening, and sewing, and was an excellent cook. She served as a board member for Old Stone Cemetery, rural Sperry, as a member of Ladies in Stitches, and was a lifetime member of the Willing Workers Club. She attended Sperry United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, James Miller of Sperry; two sons, Dennis Miller of Burlington and Robert (Traci) Miller of Winfield; one daughter, Penny (Rick) Dopler of Burlington; four grandchildren, Shayla (Josh) Schilling, Landon Dopler, Taren (Trent) Samuels and Kiley (Jacob) Leichty; 11 great-grandchildren; Addison Schilling, Breckyn Schilling, Hayden Dopler, Greyson Dopler, Tayson Samuels, Trevor Samuels, Taelyn Samuels, Ty Samuels, Liam Christner, Sutton Leichty, and Vale Leichty.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The funeral service for Mrs. Miller will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 26 at Lunning Chapel. The Rev. Wally Reynolds will officiate. A private family interment will be held in Old Stone Cemetery, rural Sperry. Following the funeral service, a luncheon will be held at Sperry United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the care of Old Stone Cemetery.
