Donald “Don” Swink, 77, of Burlington, died Saturday, August 27, 2022, at his home. 

Born June 3, 1945, in Burlington, Iowa, he was the son of Melvin Hugh and Eileen Ball Swink. 

He married Donna Dunn on August 21, 1970, in Burlington. 
Don worked for Lehigh Leopold, Arco, Exide until they closed and more recently for Enterprise Car Rental. He was a member of West Hill United Methodist Church where he served as chair SPRC. 

He was Scoutmaster and assistant for Boy Scouts Troop 2, very active in the union, and served as Santa for many years at the kids union party, and served in many capacities with the Isaac Walton League. 

Don was a family man; he enjoyed his large family gatherings. He loved camping and had a passion for playing cards and excelled at it. He had many friends throughout his life. 

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Donna Swink of Burlington; two children, Anne (Jerry) Peitzman of Des Moines and Eric Swink of Burlington; two very special grandsons, Andrew Peitzman and Henry Peitzman, both of Des Moines; two grand dogs Zeus and Wilbur; three sisters, Kay Swink of Burlington, Paula (Cliff) Kilpatrick of Round Rock, Texas, and Luana (Tim) Nelson of Forney, Texas and several nieces and nephews and friends he considered family. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jon Swink and Charlie Swink; and two sisters, Diana Flactiff and Barbara Middleton. 

According to Don’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. Cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel. 

Memorials have been established for the Southeast Iowa Renal Dialysis to benefit their staff and patients and West Hill United Methodist Church.
