Donald Roger “Red” Driskell, 86, of Blandinsville, Illinois, died Monday, June 17, 2024, at The LaMoine Assisted Living in Macomb, Ill.  Red was born Nov. 12, 1937, in Macomb the son of Wendell and Helen Brown Driskell. On April 15, 1960, he married Wanda Lee Woodside in Blandinsville. She preceded him in death July 19, 2012. 

Red was a 1955 graduate of Northwestern High School. Following high school he worked for a short time in maintenance for the State of Illinois. He spent most of his life working for Hofmeister Construction in Blandinsville. He enjoyed carpentry work, playing cards, golfing, more golfing, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and traveling with his wife in their retirement. 

He was a member of the Blandinsville Hire Fire Department, Blandinsville Christian Church and Twin Oaks Golf & County Club in Blandinsville. 

Survivors include two sons: Roger (Lynn) Driskell of Springfield, Ill. and Ray (Ann) Driskell of Carthage, Ill., six grandchildren: Rachel Sorenson, Tara Burke, Erin True, Nick Driskell, Hayley Driskell and Brooke Driskell; six great-grandchildren: Garen, Anna, Emery, Alex, Lucy and Ben; two brothers: Alan “Fuzz” (Kathy) Driskell of LaHarpe and Joe Driskell of Blandinsville; one sister: Janice Ritenour of Dubuque, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Wendell “Whimp” Driskell Jr., one sister: Carolyn Moore, and two brothers-in-law: Kenneth Ritenour and Dean Moore. 
The funeral service for Red will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2024, at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe. The family will receive friends from 1 until time of services, Friday at the funeral home. 
Burial will follow in Glade City Cemetery, Blandinsville. 

A memorial fund has been established for the Blandinsville Hire Fire Department or Twin Oaks Golf & County Club.
