Richard A. “Red” Grisham, 88, of Macomb, Ill., formerly of Richard A. “Red” Grisham, 88, of Macomb, Ill., formerly of LaHarpe, Ill., passed away at 5:50 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024 at The Lamoine Assisted Living & Memory Care in Macomb. 

He was born to Edward and Aldona (Melvin) Grisham (later Hoskins) in Adrian, Ill., on June 22, 1936, the second oldest of fourteen children (Donna, Martin, Janice, Jeanette, Robert, Larry, Jimmie, Charles, Twila, Lerita, Gary, Vickie and Lisa).

Red served in the U.S. Army from 1954 - 1957 and was stationed in Germany. He married Donna J. Sherman on Dec. 7, 1957 at the Union Church in LaHarpe. He worked for 31 years at LaHarpe Motor Sales and two years at Champion Spark Plug in Burlington. 

Red and Donna owned and operated the Tastee Freeze from 1989 to 2000. At that time Red semi-retired. Red was a past member of the LaHarpe Lions Club and served 28 years on the LaHarpe Fire Department. He was a member of the LaHarpe American Legion Post #301, a member of the LaHarpe Christian Church since 1979, a deacon, a member of the LaHarpe Park Disctict Board and a member at the LaHarpe Senior Citizens, where he enjoyed playing cards. Red especially enjoyed his family and attending sporting events for his grandchildren. 

Red is survived by his sons, Bob (Brenda) Grisham of Blandinsville, Ill. and Brent (Lynette) Grisham of Springfield, Ill.; four grandchildren, Amy and Brandon (Bouavanh) Grisham and Grady and Jolie Grisham and five great-grandchildren: Kayvanhna, Melyssa, Jedaiah, Lydiah and Lyric. He is also survived by his siblings: Charles Grisham, Twila Zeisler, Gary Grisham, and Lisa Hoskins (Miller), and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, nine siblings and his beloved wife, Donna.

He was well known for his kindness, service, mechanical inclination, and love for family and friends. He is now joined with Donna in Heaven. 
The funeral service for Red will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024, at the LaHarpe Christian Church with Pastor Nate McCarter officiating. Burial, with Military Rites, will follow in LaHarpe Cemetery. 
The family will receive friends from 9 a.m.until the time of services Tuesday at the church. 

A memorial fund has been established for the LaHarpe Christian Church, LaHarpe American Legion or the LaHarpe Fire Department.
