A black Ford Ranger pick-up truck tipped over the seawall near the north boat ramp and fell into the Mississippi River Friday morning – with the driver still inside.

The driver, Jacob Pratt, was not injured and was waiting for police on the shore when they arrived. According to Burlington Police officials, Pratt was issued traffic-related citations for the incident.

Police responded to the scene after receiving a call at 10:16 a.m. The truck was parked at the riverfront and had some mechanical issues, which finally caused it to go over the edge of the seawall, according to police.

Burlington Police said the vehicle landed in the river wheels first and was removed by a local tow company.
