Linda Carol Walker, 81, of West Burlington, died Friday, Oct. 20, 2023, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Health Center in West Burlington.

Born April 17, 1942, in Van Buren County, she was the daughter of Melvin J. and Edith H. Weyer Sandy.

She married Howard L. “Porky” Runyon. They later divorced. She then married Wayne Walker. He preceded her in death.

Linda worked for Winegard Co. for many years. She was of the Christian faith.

She was VERY independent. She loved to garden, growing many award-winning flowers and vegetables. She earned many 4H County and State awards, including Grand Champion many times. She loved attending and participating in the Des Moines County Fair.

Linda was a true cat lover, taking in and caring for many cats over the years.

She is survived by her three sons; Don (Dee) Runyon of Hannibal, Mo., Barry (Chris) Runyon of West Des Moines, and Jeff (Judi) Runyon of Waconia, Minn.; seven grandchildren, Aaron (Becky) Runyon, Ryan (Stacey) Runyon, Cody Runyon, Kyle (Katie) Runyon, Zach Runyon, Rachel Runyon and Megan (Alex) Chandler; five great-grandchildren, Katie Runyon, Luke Runyon, Charlie Runyon, Wesley Chandler and Archer Chandler; three brothers, Raymond (Joyce) Sandy of Apache Junction, Arizona, John (Margery) Sandy of Colorado, Iowa and Tim Sandy of Keosauqua.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

There will be no formal services at this time. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date in Lebanon Cemetery, Keosauqua.
