
Don Miller, 81, of Burlington, died Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born February 25, 1944, in Burlington, he was the son of Arthur Melvin and Meta C. Wiele Miller. On April 25, 1964, he married Diana Marie Timmerman in Oquawka, Ill. She died on November 20, 2021.
Throughout his life, Don worked as a mechanic at Mauthes Garage where he spent about 14 years before opening his own business, Miller Auto Salvage. In addition to his work as a mechanic, he also drove a semi and earned a certificate to transport wind turbines.
A passionate racing fan, Don loved spending time at 34 Raceway, where he not only watched the races but also participated, winning many trophies over the years. He also enjoyed trying his luck, whether it was playing Powerball or scratch-off tickets.
Survivors include four children, Donna (Kathy Pugliese) Miller of Burlington, Larry (Kim Siefken) Miller of Burlington, Ginny (Cody) Atchley of Danville, and Meta Miller Dixon of Burlington; eleven grandchildren, Patrick, Rachel (Jerod), Brett (Hannah), Bailey (Elizabeth, Kylee (J.T.), Colton, Carah, Calob, Julie, Duane and Drew; 13 great-grandchildren, Eric, Ellie, Elisha, Jameson, Dean, Lorelei, Zahcari, Laylani, Haley, Justin, Aubree, Zane and Averi; and brother, Arthur (Lucille) Miller of Denmark.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, Caitlyn Atchley, two sisters, Carol Miller and Shirley Hester.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
