Donna Jean Curran

Donna Jean Curran , 93, of New London, died Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at the Park Place Elder Living in Mount Pleasant.

Born May 24, 1931, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Roy S. and Zelda M. Ikerd Willson. On December 11, 1964, she married Max E. Curran in Burlington. He died on Dec. 7, 1995.

She was a member of the Ollie Baptist Church, Bethany Lutheran Church and the VFW Women's Auxiliary. She used to love going fishing and camping with the kids when they were younger. Donna enjoyed reading, word search puzzles and helping her son can vegetables.

Survivors include three daughters, Martha Curran of New London, Gayle (Bruce) Hartman of Burlington, Kathy Laughridge of Pettinger, N.D.; three sons, Max Curran of New London, Kelly (Carol) Curran of Jefferson, S.D.; Jay Lane of Okla., 26 Grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and three sisters, Virginia Crawford of Burlington, Linda (Tom) Ryan of Del. and Connie Hawkins of Lincoln, Neb.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Dori Lane, four sons, Michael Pennington, Jack, Robert, and Patrick Curran, three brothers, Richard, Jack, and Larry Willson, daughter-in-law, Donna Curran, sister, Janet Henderson, two brothers-in-law, Terry Hawkins and Jack Crawford, granddaughter, Amanda Lane, grandson, Roy Allen Hartman and great-granddaughter, Danni Pickner. 

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

The Graveside Committal Service for Mrs. Curran will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Shane A. McCampbell officiating.

Memorials have been established for Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice and the PAW Animal Shelter in Fort Madison.
