Mark Thomas Green, 49, of Sandy, Utah, died Monday, October 3, 2022, in Sandy, Utah.

Mark was born September 10, 1973, in Seattle, Washington, to Thomas and Diana George Green.  In 1992, he graduated from Naperville North High School and then attended the College of DuPage for one year.  Mark served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Idaho Pocatello Mission (1993-1995).  Afterward, he graduated from Brigham Young University earning a degree in accounting. He later obtained his CPA license. He started his professional career with Ernst & Young as an accountant working his way up to Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for various companies.  

At BYU he met Kelli Tregeagle, of Sandy, Utah, and they were married in the Salt Lake Utah Temple on August 14, 1997.  Mark was a devoted father of daughter Lexi, now serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Canada Toronto Mission, and son Jacob, preparing to serve his mission beginning in December of this year in the Brazil Londrina Mission.

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Mark served in various callings.  He served in the bishopric as ward clerk, the elders quorum as secretary, and in his ward Sunday school presidency. His favorite calling was teaching 10- and 11-year-old children in primary.

Mark was a gifted athlete, excelling in wrestling and golf. He was an avid sports fan.  His favorite team was the Chicago Cubs.  He was also a collector of baseball cards, hats, Star Wars memorabilia, oil paintings, and “lots of other stuff.”  He enjoyed the great outdoors - fly fishing in Montana, snowmobiling with his son in Wyoming and Idaho, and hiking and riding ATVs with his family in southern Utah.

Mark is survived by his parents, Thomas and Diana George Green of Macomb, Ill.; former wife, Kelli Tregeagle Green, daughter, Lexi Green, and son, Jacob Thomas Green of Sandy, Utah; brother, Benjamin (Julia) Green of Macomb, Ill.; grandmother, June Bourn George Nollen of Burlington; three uncles, Lonnie (Marcia) Green of Lindale, Tex., Duane (Tonya) George of Burlington, Gregory (Resa) George of Stronghurst, Ill.; and several nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Loren “Bud” and Virginia Pepmeyer Green; maternal grandfather, Lewis George and step-grandfather, Verner “Red” Nollen.  Mark loved his family and was loved by them. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, October 14. The funeral service for Mr. Green will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 14, both at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 2000 West Adams Rd, Macomb, IL. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington. He will be buried next to his paternal grandparents.  

The Graveside Committal Service for Mr. Green will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, October 14, at Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. Those wishing to attend the service will meet at the Sunnyside Avenue gate prior to the service for a procession to the gravesite.
