Catherine Jean Anderson, 85, of Burlington, died Monday, Aug. 21, 2023 at Bickford Cottage.
Born July 28, 1938, in Rosetta, Ill., she was the daughter of Harry Edward and Florence Lillian Goff Alecock.
Jean graduated from Biggsville High School. On Oct. 15, 1960, she married Eugene Richard Anderson at the Rosetta Baptist Church. He died Oct. 18, 2020.
Jean was a production worker at General Electric for 34 years. She was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ. She enjoyed playing bingo, gardening, and taking care of family and friends.
Survivors include one daughter Nancy (Amy Wesley) Anderson of Denver, Colo.; one son Eric Anderson of Burlington; four grandchildren Lauren (Kelton) Gourley of Burlington, Lucas Anderson of Iowa City, Logan Kelley, and Lyndsey Kelley both of West Burlington; three sisters Betty Brown of Monmouth, Ill., Maida Johnson of Biggsville and Sandy Cox of LaHarpe, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, and five sisters.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 23 at Lunning Chapel with Dean Graber officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Per her wishes, cremation will be accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
A memorial has been established for Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice.
