Terry "Chief" Neff, 67, of Burlington, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2021, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.
Born Dec. 21, 1953, in LaHarpe, Ill., he was the son of Eldon H. and Frances A. Bundy Neff. On July 9, 2005, he married Sheila Simmons in Burlington.
Terry graduated from Southern High School, Stronghurst, Ill., in 1972. Terry was employed by JI Case immediately following graduation and retired from the company after 38 years. He was an active member of UAW and district coordinator for ABATE.
Survivors include his wife; children, Ivan Simmons and Jerrid Simmons, both of Cedar Rapids, Josh Simmons, Micheal Simmons, Heather Guinard, and Phillip Simmons, all of Burlington; 12 grandchildren; his father, Eldon Neff of Burlington; one brother, Gary Neff of Burlington; and three sisters, Jan Kimble of Charlotte, N.C., Tina Baker of Roscoe, Ill., and Barbara Boyle of Montezuma, Iowa.
Visitation will be on Saturday, Nov. 20 from 5 until 6 p.m. with the family to receive friends at Prugh-Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for Chief will be 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20 at Prugh-Thielen Funeral Home with Father Carl Mann officiating. Cremation will be entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory following the service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice.
