Karl W. Daves II, 44, of Burlington, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City.
Born Dec. 12, 1979, in Burlington, he was the son of Karl Daves and Jena Wiemann. On Sept. 5, 2020, he married Liz DeMoss in Burlington.
Karl worked in construction.
He was a member of Community of Christ Church in Burlington. He loved the outdoors, riding four-wheelers, gardening, fishing, and boating on the river. He also enjoyed woodworking, riding motorcycles, cooking, grilling, and shooting guns. He loved his dog, Nico.
Survivors include his wife, Liz Daves of Burlington; parents, Karl (Theresa "Tracy") Daves of Burlington, and Jena (Tom) Terrell of Burlington; sister, Jacque Daves; step-brother, Adam (Jamie) Siegel; step-children, Angel (Trent) Woods and Austin Gonzalez; nieces and nephews, Joseph, Jemma, Caitlyn, Daniel, Taylor and Jaxson; and a large extended family that will miss him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph W. and Rosi Daves and Roland and Janet Wiemann, and his dog, Nico.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. 12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, at Community of Christ Church, 901 S. 12th St. Burlington.
The memorial service for Mr. Daves will be 12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, at Community of Christ Church, 901 S. 12th St. Burlington. A time of food and fellowship will be held following the service at the church.
A memorial has been established.
