Elizabeth Sumner Dickman, 74, formerly of Tell City, Ind., died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023, in Burlington.
Born Jan. 6, 1949, in Rockport, Ind., she was the daughter of Albert and Esther Little Sumner. On April 4, 1970, she married Gene Dickman. He preceded her in death on Aug. 28, 2013.
Liz worked at GE and Tell City High School as the kitchen manager for many years.
She enjoyed a good cup of coffee, shopping, gardening, working on interior design projects, and reading. She also liked to spend time with her friends and attend her grandchildren's sporting events and activities. She was affectionately known as Nana, not only to her grandchildren but many others who knew her.
Survivors include her daughter, Misty (Ryan) Harris of Burlington; grandchildren: Brooke Elizabeth, Emma Jean and Noah Ryan Harris; siblings: Richard (Priscilla) Sumner, Carolyn Sumner, Peggy (Larry) Cardin, Connie (Mike) Kahler, Judy (Jim Roehn) Sumner, Brenda (Richard) Simpson, Henry Sumner, and Nickii (Danny) Freeman; several nieces and nephews; honorary grandchildren, Laney and Everley Davis and dear friend, Mary Jo Sabelhaus.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Doris Davis and Debbie Sumner.
Services will be held in Tell City Indiana by Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Troy Indiana.
