
Gregory D. Yaley, 71, of Dallas City, Illinois, passed away Friday, September 26, 2025 at his home.
Greg was born September 16, 1954 in Ft. Madison, Iowa, the son of Darrel and Norma Jean (Wenke) Yaley. On July 29, 1978 he married Tammy Bonham in Ft. Madison. She survives.
Greg was a 1972 graduate of Ft. Madison High School. After high school, he was employed for a short time as a welder for Fruehauf Inc. in Ft. Madison. He spent most of his life as an Engineer with the Sante Fe Railroad and later, Burlington Northern Railroad, retiring after 41 years. He took great pride in providing for his family.
Mr. Yaley enjoyed being outdoors, especially riding his motorcycle, fishing, hunting, shooting guns and bows. He was a member of the Victory Faith Church in Ft. Madison and the River of Life Fellowship Church in Dallas City.
Besides his wife, Tammy, survivors include two children: Dillon (Cheryl) Yaley of Quincy and Ashley (Nicholas) Milton of Warrensburg, Missouri; four grandchildren: Gabriel and Isaac Yaley and Nevaeh and Zayden Cornick; two step-grandchildren: Victoria and Lucas Milton and two brothers: Bill (Chris) Yaley of Ft. Madison and Scott (Frannie) Yaley of Montrose.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City.
The memorial service for Greg will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, at Banks & Beals with Pastor Roger Welty officiating. A luncheon will follow at River of Life Fellowship.
A memorial fund has been established for River of Life Fellowship or PAW Animal Shelter.
