
Mrs. Sharon Paskiet, 82, died Sunday, March 6, 2022, at her residence.
Born Feb. 7, 1940, in Toledo, Ohio, she was the daughter of Charles Edward Schoettley and Tillie Zientek Schoettley. Sharon married the love of her life, Eugene “Gene” Paskiet, on July 18, 1959, at St. Petri Lutheran Church in Toledo, Ohio. Gene and Sharon enjoyed raising their family in Sylvania, Ohio before moving to Burlington in 1992.
Sharon was an avid reader and spent hours perusing the library. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, dinner with her friends, and was always ready for a good laugh. Most of all, Sharon treasured time spent with her family, and always looked forward to speaking with her grandchildren and hearing stories about their lives.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Eugene Paskiet, her parents Charles Edward Schoettley and Tillie Schoettley, brothers Thomas and Gerald Schoettley, and sisters Barbara (Echols) and Diana Schoettley.
She is survived by her four children, Craig (Mel) Paskiet, Dana (Dave) Brown, Todd Paskiet, and Zach (Jackie) Paskiet; six grandchildren, Dustin, Trevor, and Eliza Brown, and Owen, Graham and Tessa Paskiet; and three sisters-in-law, Beverly Schoettley, Rosalie (Don) Koch and Barbara Paskiet; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 13th at Lunning Chapel. The family will receive friends from Noon until 2:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at Reeb Funeral Home, Sylvania, Ohio. Interment will be in Toledo Memorial Cemetery in Sylvania Ohio.
A memorial has been established for the Burlington Public Library Foundation, 210 Court Street, Burlington, Iowa 52601.
