Debra Lynn "Debbie" Baldwin, 70, of Burlington, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, at Oak View Nursing Home in West Burlington.
Born April 27, 1954, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Jack, Jr. and Audry JoAnn Dirth Knotts. She married Victor G. Baldwin on April 29, 1977; they had one child, Richard L. Baldwin, of Burlington. Debra also had one stepdaughter, Victoria Baldwin.
In Debra's younger years, she worked at The Arion Restaurant in Burlington, Iowa. After the birth of her son, Debra was a stay at home mom. Debra enjoyed playing BINGO, fishing at the family cabin, gardening, watching The Golden Girls, and listening to Old Time Country music. She also loved her pets, especially her recently departed dog, Scoobie.
Debra was of Christian faith and loved going to church until her health prevented her from doing so; but she continued to watch sermons on TV.
Survivors include her son, Richard Lee Baldwin of Burlington; one sister, Jackie (Jim) Capps of Burlington; one brother, John Knotts, of Burlington; three nieces, Christina (Eric) Lybarger, Kimberly Capps and Ashley Capps; two nephews, Jamie Capps and Josh Knotts; four great-nieces; five great-nephews; three great-great nieces; and one great-great nephew.
Debra was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Audrey Knotts, husband Victor Baldwin and brother, Steve Knotts.
Family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 2024, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.
The funeral service for Mrs. Baldwin will be 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 2024, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street. Burial will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Prugh Funeral Service following the burial.
A memorial has been established for the Des Moines County Humane Society.
