
Timothy “Tim” Aaron Weyls Sr., 68, of Burlington, died Sept. 29, 2025, at Southeast Iowa Regional Home Health and Hospice.
Tim was born on September 29, 1957, in Lafayette, Indiana. He was the son of Ed and Betty Weyls. Tim graduated from Burlington High School with the Class of 1975. Tim married Regena Brunk in 1979; together, they had one son, Timothy Aaron Weyls, Jr.; they later divorced. Tim then met Darsi Hodgkin, and together they had one daughter, Madisyn Lynn Weyls.
As a young man, he worked at several Burlington establishments such as the Starlight Room at Pzazz. He spent time working in Phoenix, AZ at The Pointe Resort as a Banquet Manager which inspired his business ventures when he returned to Burlington. Tim owned Weyls Marina Restaurant. He also worked construction - working many years with Raymond Smith Construction.
Tim loved hunting, being out on the river, and his dogs. He had many loving dogs throughout his life, notably Blazer, Brutus, Sunny, Princess, and Mia. Tim especially looked forward to the annual hunting trip with his cousin Mark Weyls and their time spent on Weyls Mountain. Tim loved his family and friends - he enjoyed spending time with them, sharing stories, and making them laugh. He had a great sense of humor, which stuck with him until the very end.
Tim is survived by his son, Timothy (TJ) Weyls Jr, his daughter, Madisyn Weyls, his grandson, Taytum Jayy Weyls, and his sister JoDee (Weyls) Rangel as well as several cousins, nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews.
Tim’s family would like to thank Southeast Iowa Regional Home Health and Hospice for their care and the many doctors and nurses that have helped Tim through the past 15 years of battling cancer.
A celebration of life will be held at Doris’s Tavern on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 2 p.m.
