 Shirley Lea (Ralston) Webster, 92, of Burlington, passed from this life into the next on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Oak View Assisted Living Center, Burlington. Shirley was born May 18, 1934, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Frederick and Helen Laurine (Norris) Ralston. Mrs. Webster graduated from City High School (Iowa City, Iowa) in 1952 and from the University of Iowa School of Nursing in 1955, just 11 days before her marriage to Shirley Lee Webster on August 20, 1955, at First Methodist Church, Iowa City. As a registered nurse, she worked at Burlington General Hospital and later at the original Klein Center. She worked as a private duty nurse for many years afterward.   She was a member of First Presbyterian Church for 70 years, being active in the Mariners and United Presbyterian Women. She was a member of the Electa Circle of Kings Daughters for over 6o years, and a 50+ year member of Burlington Chapter #545 O.E.S. 

Surviving are one son, (The Rev’d) Randy Lee (The Rev’d Paul Walker) Webster of Burlington; one daughter, Beth Ann (Tommy) Pittman of Buford, GA; step-grandson Paul Walker, Jr. (Dr. Harry Gill); step-great-grandson Olean Gill; and her adopted "grandchildren" Andrew, Mackenzie, and Madison Osborn. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Frederick Dale, infant daughter Patricia Ann Webster, and step-granddaughter Heather Walker.  

Visitation will be Friday, August 21 at the Lunning Chapel from 5 to 7 p.m.  The memorial Eucharist will be celebrated on Saturday, August 22 at 1 p.m. in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church with The Rev’d Dr. Richard Johnson officiating. Lunch will precede the service in Fellowship Hall from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Organ Fund of First Presbyterian Church.
