Lois Jean Beckman, 84, of West Burlington, died Sunday, March 13, 2022, at her home.

Born September 12, 1937, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Donald and Helen Beckman Taeger. She married Paul Beckman on June 10, 1956, in Prairie Grove Church.

Lois attended school at Prairie Grove School and was a graduate of Danville High School.

She worked for National Research and Sylvania and retired after 30 years from Iowa Industries (Champion Spark Plug).

She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes fan. She enjoyed square dancing, playing cards and bingo, and loved tending to her lawn. Lois also loved traveling to Branson, Mo.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Beckman of West Burlington; one daughter, Teresa Neal of Woodward; three grandchildren, Matt (Sabrina) Neal, Alison (Grant) Henry, and Paul Neal; five great-grandchildren, Blake Neal, Michael Neal, Eve Henry, Margot Henry, and Griffin Henry; three siblings, Don (Mary) Taeger, Dorothy Lane, and Ken (Tina) Taeger; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law, Mike Neal, and brothers-in-law, Leonard Lane and Norman Roelfs.

The funeral service for Mrs. Beckman will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 18 at Peace Lutheran Church. The Rev. Ralph Andersen will officiate. Interment will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery, rural West Burlington. Visitation will be from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 17 at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends.

A memorial has been established for Peace Lutheran Church.
