Linda D. Miller, 75, of Burlington, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, at Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born on April 24, 1949, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Delbert and Laura Hennings Carlson. On Jan. 14, 1967, in Kahoka, Mo., she married Ronald Miller. He preceded her in death on Sept. 25, 1993. She later met Steve Mehaffy. For thirty years they raised their families together.

Linda graduated in the class of 1967 from Burlington High School. She worked for Winegard for forty-four years and retired in 2014. In her free time Linda enjoyed bowling, crocheting, attending craft shows, fishing, going camping, decorating her yard and flower beds, having Steve take her on boat rides on the Mississippi River and gambling. She and Steve traveled the United States by vehicle and visited all but one state, Hawaii. Linda never passed up an opportunity to watch her grandchildren in their sporting events. Most of all Linda loved her family and spending time with them.

She is survived by her best friend of thirty years Steve Mehaffy; five children: Christy (David) Cloke of Quincy, Ill., Robert (Jill) Miller of Loveland, Colo., Sheri (Tony) Ertz of Burlington, Iowa, Jill (Eric) Nalley of Mediapolis, Nathan (Laura) Mehaffy of Danville; twelve grandchildren: Brittany (Brandon Winklejohn) Cloke, Austin Cloke, Kale Miller, Kylie (Keenan) Niemi, Adam (Hope) Stogdill, Blake Stogdill, Clayton (Hallie) Stogdill, Allison, Lily and Henry Nalley, Dane and Marin Mehaffy; three great-grandchildren: Lucas Stogdill, Peyton Stogdill, Baby boy Winklejohn and siblings: Larry (Lynn) Carlson, Randy (Mary) Carlson, Rick Carlson, Mike Carlson, Danny (Lee) Hennings. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ronald Miller, Harold Miller, Wilda Miller, Ann Miller, Heather Carlson, Patty Tansey, Gary Tansey and Shirley Carlson.

The funeral service for Linda will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, 2024, at Lunning Chapel with Pastor Nate Todd officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at Lunning Chapel. Burial will be held in Aspen Grove.

A memorial has been established in her memory for Southeast Iowa Regional Home Health and Hospice.
