
John “Brad” Cornick, 70, of Burlington, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.
Born on March 12, 1954, in Burlington, he was the son of Edson and Mildred Leinbach Cornick. On May 20, 1978, in Burlington, he married Marilyn Gieselman.
Brad was a 1972 graduate of Burlington High School. For forty-eight years he drove a semi-truck and most recently drove for Food Liner Company. Brad enjoyed landscaping in his yard, reading history books and serving others whenever given the opportunity. When Brad and Marilyn welcomed their daughter Heather in to the world, she became the light of his life. There was nothing else that would bring him more joy than to be with Heather, Tim and Jaiden. He always valued the time he had with his family.
He is survived by his wife of forty-seven years Marilyn; daughter Heather (Tim) Stebbins and their daughter Jaiden all of Creston, Iowa and sister Kim Copley of Ankeny, Iowa. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Per his wishes cremation has been entrusted and accorded to the care of Lunning Chapel. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
