
Raymond L. Peebler, 75, of West Burlington, died Monday, May 11, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Born October 10, 1950, in Harlan, Iowa, he was the son of Edward Alvin and Donna Rose Peebler. He married Michelle Heller on Feb. 4, 1977.
He was assigned to the special forces and served in the Army during the Vietnam war.
Ray worked as a machinist for BNSF Railroad for over 26 years.
He was a member of West Burlington Christian Church. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Michelle Peebler of West Burlington; two daughters, Missy (Tommy) Lynn of Denver, North Carolina and Amber Peebler of Burlington; two grandchildren, Sydney Raye Lynn and Charly Gene Lynn; his twin sister Katherine (Greg) Richenberger of Plano, Texas, sister Ruth Phillips of Virginia Beach, Virginia; brother William (Diane) Peebler of Danville, Iowa; nine nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Lynnda Stogdill.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 17 at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends. The memorial funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. The Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military rites.
A private family burial will be held in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for West Burlington Christian Church.
