She is preceded by her Grandparents Maternal &amp; Paternal, her parents Charles and Edith Avery and her brothers Richard and Charles Avery. She is survived by her sisters Melody Ferguson and Charlene Johnston, and her brother Billy Avery.

Sharon was a longtime resident of Houston and retired from MD Anderson. Retirement brought more church activity and the Master Gardner classes. She enjoyed dancing, traveling around Texas and ski vacations.

In lieu of flowers donations to MD Anderson would be appreciated.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 21 at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends. The graveside funeral service and interment for Mrs. Carter will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 22 at Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
