Richard L. Douglas, 87, of Burlington, died Monday, January 26, 2026, at his home. Born December 24, 1938, in Devalls-Bluff, Ark., he was the son of Harold and Phoebe (Rodgers) Douglas. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Air Force, serving his country honorably from January 3, 1956, until August 17, 1959. On November 12, 1959, he married Martha Jo Beard in Boonesville, Ind. She preceded him in death on October 21, 2025. Survivors include two sons, Richard "Tony" A. Douglas of Ely, Iowa, and Joseph E. Douglas of Burlington; three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory. There will be no visitation or services. Prugh Funeral Service is in care of the arrangements.
