John Charles Mickey, 60, of Burlington died Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at his residence.&nbsp;

Born October 20, 1961, in Burlington, he was the son of Donald Duane and Mavis Claudette Schleiper Mickey.&nbsp;

John was a 1979 graduate of Union High School in Illinois and earned his associate degree from Southeastern Community College. He served in the United States Navy and the Navy Reserves.&nbsp;

On October 10, 1987, John married Joyce Marie Haight at West Burlington United Methodist Church.&nbsp;

John was a construction laborer and he loved golf and spending time with his children. He would tell stories of his time overseas &amp; in the Navy. With his family, he enjoyed watching football and playing left, right, and center with the nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

Survivors include his daughter Erin Elizabeth Mickey of West Burlington and son Tory Alexander Paige Mickey of Glade Hills, Va.; brother Donald Mickey of Burlington; sisters Judy Avery of Stronghurst, Ill., Gail Cale of Donnellson, Ia, Kelly Mickey of Gulfport, Ill. and several nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

He was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Mavis.&nbsp; Cremation has been accorded and entrusted to Lunning Chapel.&nbsp;
