Patricia Joan Rose, 93, of West Burlington, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, at the Wapello Specialty Care in Wapello.

Born Nov. 27, 1930, in Vinton, she was the daughter of Rex S. and Mary Louella Thompson Morris. On June 4, 1950, she married Harold Eugene Rose Jr. in Mount Pleasant. He died on Sept. 14, 1984.

She was a 1949 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School. She then attended Iowa Wesleyan College. 

Patricia worked for the Mt. Pleasant Telephone Company, IAAP in Middletown, Sylvania Electric, IRC, Champion Spark Plug and worked in the catalog department for Sears. She worked with her husband establishing Rose's Bait and Tackle Shop and continued after his death to operate it for a total of 36 years.

She belongs to the Eastern Star E.C. Blackmar #306 of Burlington and is a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #58 in Mt. Pleasant. She enjoyed gardening, canning,  reading, listening to music, and going to dances with her husband. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. 

Survivors include her children, Harold E. (Marian) Rose Jr. of O'Fallon, IL, and Cindy Lou Pellican of West Burlington; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; three nieces and three nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Orville and Virgil Morris.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

There will be no formal services. Burial will be with her husband in Keokuk National Cemetery at a later date.
