Larry D. Mincer, 81, of Burlington, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2021, at Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House.
Born Sept. 17, 1940, in Washington, he was the son of Maynard, F. “Mike” and Doreen Fairlie Mincer. Larry was raised by his grandparents, Ralph and Dorothy Fairlie.
On Sept. 3, 1960, Larry married Mary Kay Montgomery in Fort Madison..
Larry was a graduate of Sigourney Iowa High School. He was in law enforcement for nine and a half years. He drove trucks for the next 30 years, retiring April 1, 2006.
He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 150, and Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Susan Marshall of Ankeny; son, Bobby Mincer of Burlington; sister, Janet Higdon of Fort Madison; and five grandchildren.
The memorial service for Larry Mincer will be Thursday, Dec. 2 at 11 a.m. at Lunning Chapel with Fr. James Flattery and Fr. Patrick Hilgendorf officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. There will be a private family inurnment at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House, Southeast Iowa Regional Cancer Care, and Southeast Iowa Special Needs Foundation.
Cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
