Dennis Charles Manes, 66, of Burlington, died Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born Jan. 27, 1959, he was the son of E. Charles Manes and Marilyn Kienlen Willis. He married Angela Kay French on March 19, 1975, and they later divorced. He then married Jessica Renee Hills on Oct. 20, 2012. They divorced.
Dennis was very proud to be a registered nurse. He was a business owner and an entrepreneur.
He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his children; Christa Manes-Ruther (Jeremy), Josh Manes (Carrie Atkinson), Jamie Murphy, Troy Manes, Jacob Hills and Gus Manes; 18 grandchildren and sister Diana Rock.
He was preceded in death by his parents. stepmother Alice Long, stepfather Tom Willis, two brothers Jeff Manes and Steve Willis, sisters Janet Trzaska, Junelle Jones and Sharon Long.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 31 at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 1 at Peace Lutheran Church. Pastor James Zuehls will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Lutheran Cemetery rural Mediapolis.
Memorials have been established for Peace Lutheran Church or to the SCC Nursing Program.
