Carol Jeanne Hippe, 90, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023. She was born in Richmond, Ind., on May 5, 1932, to Raymond Elbert and Lenora Ione Watkins Belcher.
Carol is survived by her brother, Wayne Watkins; her daughters, Dale Nelson, Dana Johnston, and Emily Alberta; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; stepchildren, James Paxton, JoAn Boman, Patty Jo McCrea, Sandy Beasley, and Margaret Ferrera; 13 step-grandchildren, 11 step-great-grandchildren, and 1 step-great-great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Frederick Pfafflin, Jack Riley, William Clark Paxton, and Robert William Hippe.
A celebration of life will be in Burlington at V.O.’s on Jefferson Street on Saturday, March 11 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. An additional celebration of life will be held in Santa Fe, N.M. on Saturday, April 8 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. (location to be announced). A private service will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, N.M.
