
Mr. James Edward Felland, 86, of Burlington, died at Arbor Court in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, on April 22, 2025.
Born on January 24, 1939 in Cresco, Iowa he was the son of Orel T. and Esther L. Miller Felland. He married Beverly J. Enhorning on November 22, 1976 in Burlington, Iowa.
Jim was a 1957 graduate of Harmony High School in Harmony, Minnesota and served in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1962 being discharged in Oakland, California. Jim was a Machine Repairman for J.I. Case company for 23 ½ years retiring in 1992.
He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Life member of the NRA, VFW, Eagles Lodge Aerie #150, Moose Lodge #579 of Burlington. Jim loved to hunt, fish, listen to Big Bands and Polka Music and was an avid Storyteller. He was a woodworker making the majority of the furniture for his home, family and friends. Jim loved watching old westerns and John Wayne was his hero.
Survivors include his wife Beverly of 48 years, three sons; Todd A. (Valerie) Felland of Danville, IA, Timothy S. (Deanna) Felland of Burlington, IA, Todd Edward (Carol) Stewart of Urbandale, IA; two daughters, Amy L. Bloomer, and Angela S. (Randall) Flowers, both of Burlington, IA; 15 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren, and one on the way; three sisters, Sonja M. (Rolf) Brown of Eden Prairie, MN, Martha A. Felland of Plymouth, MN and Marian E. Felland of Minneapolis, MN and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Richard A. Felland.
The Military Rites and Memorial Funeral Service for Mr. James E. Felland will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Lunning Chapel. Chaplain Don Combs will officiate, and inurnment will be in the Aspen Grove Cemetery Columbarium. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Military rites will be conducted by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard and the United States Navy Honors Team.
Memorials have been established for Bethany Lutheran Church and Compassus Hospice.
