Sharon Huston, 82, of Burlington, died Friday, June 30, 2023, at her residence.
Born Sept. 9, 1940, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Paul and Mary Stewart Wolkenhauer. She married Roger Huston on July 3, 1958. He preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 2014.
Sharon was a stay-at-home mom and homemaker. She attended Harmony Bible Church. She loved cooking and baking all kinds of amazing meals and desserts for her family. She was always collecting recipes and cookbooks. She enjoyed playing board games, card games and word games with her family, especially Boggle, which she and her sister Joyce excelled at and were unbeatable. Sharon loved shopping with her sister Mary, but most important to her was her time spent with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her three children; Brian Huston of Burlington, Brad Huston of Maple Hill, Kan. and Diana Huston (Heather) of Colo.; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Carl (Mary) Wolkenhauer of Texas and Jerry Wolkenhauer of Burlington; two sisters, Joyce (Jim) Gosney of Burlington and Mary Hoke of Overland Park, Kan. and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Stanley Wolkenhauer and a sibling at birth.
The memorial funeral service for Sharon will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 6 at Lunning Chapel. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will follow at Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the family.
