Gary Lee Henry, 78, of Carman, Ill, died Thursday, Oct 14, 2021.

Born Oct. 10, 1943, in Sciota, Ill., he was the son of Fredrick Lyle and Esther Gossage Henry. On Aug. 28, 1961, he married Connie Barnes in Kahoka, Mo.

Mr. Henry attended school in Sciota.

He worked for Midwest Biscuit as a Master Baker and then for the Burlington Paper Company and Case until retirement. He then did mowing for Geode State Park and worked for Twomey’s during Harvest. He helped family and neighbors with mowing and snow-plowing. He was also the handyman and delivery man for Henry Tax & Accounting.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Cindy Nelson of Biggsville, Ill.; two sons, Davey Henry and Robbie Henry both of Burlington; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. 

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, at Prugh-Thielen Funeral Home, Burlington, where family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m.

The memorial service for Mr. Henry will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22, at Prugh-Thielen Funeral Home with Brenda Distelhorst officiating. Burial will be in Carman Cemetery.  A time of food and fellowship will be at Carman Community Center after burial.

Memorials have been established for Carman Community Center and Dallas City Riverview Sportsman Programs.
