Mark A. Baker, 56, of Burlington, died at 8:00 pm Saturday, April 2, 2022, at his residence.

Born, December 15, 1965 in Burlington, he was the son of Lyman Gene Baker and Caryl A. Logan. He married Jacqueline L. Whitehair on September 9, 1990 in Burlington.

Mark graduated from Danville High School. He was a welder for Flint Cliff Manufacturing. Mark was a member of W.I.S.C.R.S. Western Illinois Slot Car Racing Society. If it had wheels, Mark enjoyed it-from trail riding on his bike to zooming around the go kart track to building and racing slot cars. He loved playing with his grandkids!

Survivors include his wife Jackie; children Julie Whitehair of Burlington, Jessica (Esteban) Serrano of Marshalltown, IA, Jeanette (Kody) Burr of Burlington; four grandchildren Haley, Justin Jr, Liliana, and Apollo; mother and stepfather Caryl and Ralph Logan of Danville, IA; sisters Monika Deatsch of Lakeville MN, Rashawn Logan of West Burlington; step-sisters Cindy Picton and Sandy Pezley of Keokuk, IA.
Mark was preceded in death by his father and stepmother Lyman and June Baker; stepbrother Martin Payne and daughter Jodie.

The funeral service for Mr. Baker will be Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 10:00 am at Lunning Chapel with Reverend Dean Graber officiating. Interment will follow the service at Aspen Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 6, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Lunning Chapel.

A memorial has been established. Mark was an organ donor.
