Doris Jean Ruschill, 94, died Sunday, March 19, 2023.
She was a resident of King’s Daughters and Son’s Retirement Home for many years and more recently at Addington Place.
She was born in a log home in Swedesburg, the daughter of Fred and Edna McPheron.
She married Fremont Ruschill on July 14, 1946, he preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 2003.
She was an employee of National Research Bureau for many years. After her retirement, she volunteered at Great River Medical center in day surgery.
She was a long-time member of West Burlington United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her four grandchildren; Dawn (Ken) Hough of Columbia, Mo., Misty Lyon of Virginia Beach, Va., Wendy (Michael) Corzatt of Burlington, and J.D. (Joy) Lyon of Farmington; eleven great-grandchildren, Kaitlin (Matt) McVey, Grant (Brooke) Corzatt, Carter Corzatt, Ella Corzatt, Cody Lyon, Annie Lyon, Rafe Lyon, Jack Lyon, Paul Lyon, Jessi Lyon, and Jozi Lyon; great-great twin grandsons, Graham McVey and Rogan McVey and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister Viola, and son-in-law John Lyon.
The funeral service for Mrs. Ruschill will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 24 at Lunning Chapel. Pastor Nancy Sutherland will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
A memorial has been established for West Burlington United Methodist Church.
