Steven David Catanzaro, age 70, formerly of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away May 29, 2024 at Azria Health Prairie Ridge after battling lung cancer. Born Aug. 3, 1953 in Burlington, he was the son of Anthony "Tony" & Marjorie Peek Catanzaro.
Steve graduated from Burlington High School, class of 1971. The family loved camping, canoeing, fishing and special times at Dad’s cabin in Gulfport. He moved to Lincoln to work at Kawasaki Motor Company where he became supervisor of their water treatment plant, retiring after 45 years. He also detailed pickups & RVs until moving to Mediapolis to be close to friends & Marcia’s family. Steve was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed his RV and Corvette.
Survivors include his sister, Marcia (Bernard) Thie, niece Marissa (Scot) Geisler of North Liberty IA and nephews Benjamin (Kasey) Thie & Matthew (Michelle) Thie of Mediapolis, six great nieces & nephews, and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Patrick & sister, Toni Marie Catanzaro.
Per Steve’s wishes there will be no formal services. Cremation has been entrusted to Snyder & Hollenbaugh.
