Jerry Allen Wasolaskus, 72, formerly of Newaygo, Mich., died Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born May 9, 1953, in Grand Rapids, Mich., he was the son of Bernard Frank Wasolaskus and Barbara Cross Zellinger.&nbsp;

He was a graduate of Grandville High School in Grandville, Mich.&nbsp;

Jerry worked for many years installing pools in Michigan.&nbsp;

He enjoyed fishing and hunting deer and small game. He truly loved installing above ground swimming pools. He had a gift for making everything look perfect and always level. His favorite part was the smile on peoples faces when he was done.&nbsp;

Survivors include his children, Ben Wasolaskus, Leisha Chmelik, Cara Thayer, Dana Chambers, and Kris Wasolaskus; 15 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; one sister, Terri Jasperse, step-brother, George Zellinger, numerous nieces, nephews, cousin and his best friend, Jim Cross.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Denny Wasolaskus.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
