Mary Rose O'Daniels, 100, of Burlington, died Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born June 16, 1925, in Braddock, PA, she was the daughter of George and Mary Petruska Rosipayla. On October 11, 1944, she married Richard Leland O'Daniels in Portsmouth, Virginia. He passed on February 3, 2020.
She was a graduate of Braddock High School in Braddock, Pennsylvania
Mary worked for IRC-TRW for 23 years.
She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish and St. Theresa Circle. She enjoyed quilting, making over 150 quilts and donated many. She also enjoyed baking.
Survivors include one son, Bob O'Daniels of Camano Island, WA; three daughters, Diane Croft and Kathy Akers, both of Eldridge, IA, and Patricia O'Daniels of Arlington, TX; one daughter-in-law, Kerry O'Daniels of Cave Creek, AZ; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Rosipayla of Castle Rock, CO; one sister, Helen Newman of Trafford, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Rick O'Daniels, one grandson, Brian O'Daniels and one granddaughter, Stephanie Cruchlow.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
Visitation will be from noon until 6:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.
The Memorial Mass of the Resurrection for Mrs. O'Daniels will be 11:30 AM Thursday, April 16, 2026, at St. Paul's Catholic Church with Fr. Jake Greiner as the Celebrant. A time of food and fellowship will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church following the service. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
A memorial has been established for Divine Mercy Parish.
