
Shelley Ann Deam, 75, of Mediapolis, died Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born November 6, 1950, in Burlington, IA, she was the daughter Shirley Joan Law Rowe. On November 20, 1981, she married Tim Deam in Burlington, IA.
She was a 1968 graduate of Burlington High School and later earned her nursing degree from the Burlington School of Nursing.
Shelley devoted her entire life to caring for others through her work in health care. She served as a surgical nurse at the former Mercy Hospital, went on to lead with compassion as Director of Nursing for several nursing homes, and concluded her career providing comfort and dignity to patients and families through Hospice care.
She was a member of Jane A. Delano Club and TOPS. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and traveling with her husband.
Survivors include her husband, Tim Deam of Mediapolis; sister, Janet Marshall of Burlington; brother, John (Sandy) Rowe of Saint Charles, MO; and nephew, Ben Marshall.
She was preceded in death by her mother, aunt and uncle.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Friday, February 13, 2026 at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.
The memorial service for Mrs. Deam will be 11:00 AM Friday, February 13, 2026, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street with Chaplain Randy Langner officiating. Nursing honors will be provided by Great River Nurse's Honor Guard. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Prugh Funeral Service following the Service. Burial will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for the Des Moines County Humane Society and Southeast Iowa Hospice.
