Charlotte Ilene Fritz, 83, of Burlington, died Sunday, October 2, 2022 at her home.
Born September 6, 1939 in Keosauqua, she was the daughter of Harrison “Dutch” and Hazel Williams Varvel.
She graduated in 1957 from Sperry High School and married Claire A. Fritz on March 18, 1972 in Burlington. Charlotte was a Jehovah’s Witness.
Charlotte cleaned house, worked at Midwest Biscuit and also worked for Dr Roewe’s oral surgery office. She enjoyed word search puzzles, traveling with Claire and family, including trips to Europe, Hawaii and throughout the United States. Charlotte was an avid reader, enjoyed tea parties and going for coffee and garage sales.
Survivors include her husband, Claire; children Jack Butcher, Carl Johnson, Jan Tolmasoff, Lisa Forristall, Randy Fritz, Jennifer Fritz, Amy Bourbon, and Jamie Fritz; 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; brothers and sisters Ray Dean Varvel, Sharon Allsup, Cheryl Gibson, Donna Gerdner and Rick Varvel.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Howard Varvel.
The funeral service for Charlotte will be Friday, October 7, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Lunning Chapel with Mr. Brent Nelson officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in West Burlington. Visitation will be Thursday, October 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lunning Chapel.
