Rosemary Agnes Friedman, 91, of Burlington, died at 6:10 AM Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born August 22, 1930, at home in Hancock County, Ill., she was the daughter of Lawrence G. and Rosa C. Thele Anderson. On July 24, 1951, she married Raymond L. Chevalier. They later divorced and he passed in 1999. On October 4, 1995, she married Warren W. Friedman in Burlington. He died on August 25, 1996.

She owned and operated Rosalee's Shoe Repair for many years, and worked factory jobs as well.

She was of Catholic faith. She enjoyed gardening, watching birds, and taking care of her cats, her last one being, Fluffy. She loved her family deeply, and always looked forward to birthday parties for the grandkids, and seeing everyone together.

Survivors include two sons, Charles (Dawn) Chevalier of Burlington, and Kenneth Chevalier of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Linda Snowden of Burlington, and Janet (Peter) Wernicke of Rapid City, S.D.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret (Paxton) Lowery of Miami Beach, Fla., Jane F. Crawford of Brighton, and Carol; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by one son, David; one sister, Catherine; and three brothers, Paul, Leo and John.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

Visitation for Rosemary will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Friday, May 6, 2022, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.

The memorial service for Mrs. Friedman will be 11:00 AM Friday, May 6, 2022, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home, with Fr. Dennis Hatungimana officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery following the service. To honor Rosemary, the family encourages everyone who would be willing to wear vibrant flower colors.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Des Moines County Humane Society.
