Roberta Amenell, 82, of Burlington, died Monday, Oct. 4, 2021, at her home.

 Born March 4, 1939, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Joseph Francis and Bernice Catherine Krabbe Hauser. On Jan 4, 1964, she married Jerry Lee Amenell at St. John's Catholic Church in Burlington. He died May 14, 2006.

Roberta was a stewardess on Ozark Airlines before she married. Later she worked at Mason-Hanger on a line, then worked at IAAP as a contract administrator, retiring after 35 years. 

She graduated from Burlington High School in 1958, and attended Southeastern Community College in West Burlington.

She was of the Catholic faith and a member of Divine Mercy Parish where she attended services at St. John's Catholic Church. She was the treasurer of the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards and especially spending time with her family. 

Survivors include one daughter, Shayla M. (Carl) Blackburn of Niota, Ill.; two sons, Bradley J. Amenell of Burlington and Dustin (Jody) Amenell of Pleasant Hill; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Hauser (Franklin) Lewis; nieces and nephews. 

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers. 

Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, at Prugh-Thielen Funeral Home in Burlington, where family will receive friends following the 3 p.m. Rosary.

The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection for Mrs. Amenell will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 11, 2021, at Divine Mercy Parish-St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Burlington, with the  Rev. James Flattery as celebrant. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Burlington. 

A memorial has been established for  St. Vincent de Paul food pantry.
