Janet Castle, age 75, died March 3, 2024, at Good Samaritan Society in Canistota, S.D. She was born on April 28, 1948, to Robert and Pearl McKaughan in Sioux Falls, S.D.&nbsp;

Janet grew up in Sioux Falls and graduated from Lincoln High School. She was married to David Castle. Janet had a keen interest in horses and enjoyed horseback riding around Sioux Falls. Sometimes, she would even ride her horse downtown. Janet loved small animals, feeding the squirrels, her hamsters, and being in nature. She was a free-spirited girl and loved to lead people on trail rides with horses when she was in Colorado. Janet loved music, and she enjoyed playing the piano and Violin. Janet had a talent for cooking and could create delicious dishes with ease.

Grateful to have shared her life are her siblings, Anita (Bob) Fleming and Thomas McKaughan; nephews, Jeff (Margo), Christopher, Greg (Shelly), Michael, Robert, and Scott; niece, April; and eleven great nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Castle; parents, Robert and Pearl McKaughan.&nbsp;

A private graveside service will be held at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Miller Funeral Home in Sioux Fall, SD is in care of the arrangements.
